  • 2 eggs eggs

  • Vegetable oil Vegetable oil (for shallow frying, about 1.5 to 2 cups)
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 tablespoons buttermilk
  • 0.25 cup minced chives
  • 1 teaspoon granulated onion
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt

  • Marinate chicken strips with salt, pepper, onion, and garlic for 10-15 minutes.
  • Set up dredging stations: flour, beaten eggs, crushed potato chips.
  • Dredge each chicken strip in flour, then eggs, then crushed chips, pressing to coat.
  • Heat about 1.5 to 2 cups vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry strips 3.5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • Drain fried chicken on a wire rack, sprinkle with additional salt and pepper, and serve with sour cream and onion ranch.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot enough before frying to achieve a crispy coating.
