  • 1 teaspoon Black Pepper (Garlic salt can offer an interesting twist.)
  • 2 tablespoons Brown Sugar (Coconut sugar can be used as a swap.)
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Chili Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin
  • 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper (Adjust to suit spice preference.)
  • 1 cup Ketchup (Homemade can be used for more control.)
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce (Can omit for a simpler sauce.)
  • 2 tablespoons Honey (Maple syrup is a great alternative.)
  • 1 teaspoon Liquid Smoke (Add fewer drops for a distinct taste.)

Additional

  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder

Instructions 

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  • Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl to make the BBQ sauce.
  • Rub the chicken thighs with olive oil and season with salt, pepper, and spices.
  • Place chicken on a baking sheet and brush generously with BBQ sauce.
  • Bake for 35-40 minutes until cooked through and caramelized.

Notes
