Ingredients

Protein

  • 1.5 lb chicken (breasts, thighs, or leftover)
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 0.5 c maple syrup
  • 1/3 c chopped onion
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 0.5 c chicken broth
  • 3 tbsp ketchup
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

Instructions 

  • Set the Instant Pot to sauté, add butter and chicken, and cook for 4 minutes per side if raw, or warm if leftover.
  • Turn off the Instant Pot, add maple syrup, onion, soy sauce, garlic, sesame oil, ketchup, salt, and pepper, then stir.
  • Pour chicken broth over the mixture, seal the lid, and set to manual for 10 minutes if using leftover chicken or 15 minutes if raw.
  • Allow natural release, then shred the chicken with a fork.

Notes

For extra flavor, toast the buns before serving.
