Enjoy crispy, tender chicken tenders coated in a sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, perfect for a paleo-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Sauce ingredients

  • 1 tsp arrowroot flour or tapioca
  • 3 Tbsp water
  • 1/2 cup raw honey
  • 1/4 cup coconut aminos (minced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 1/2 lb Chicken tenderloins (or breasts)
  • 1 cup blanched almond flour
  • 1/3 cup arrowroot flour (or tapioca)
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 large egg (+ 2 tsp water, whisked)
  • to taste Avocado oil (or coconut oil, for frying)

Instructions 

  • Mix arrowroot and water to make the sauce base, then simmer with honey, coconut aminos, garlic, and spices until thickened.
  • Cut chicken into strips if using breasts. Mix almond flour, arrowroot, spices, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Whisk egg with water in another bowl.
  • Heat oil in a skillet. Dip chicken in egg, then coat with dry mixture. Fry in batches until golden and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  • Drain cooked chicken on paper towels. Serve with honey garlic sauce drizzled on top and extra for dipping.

Notes

Ensure oil is hot before frying for best crispiness.
