A spicy, crispy chicken sandwich coated in buffalo sauce, perfect for a flavorful lunch or dinner.

Ingredients

For the Chicken:

  • 2 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (sliced in half horizontally)
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch

Vegetable oil (for frying)

For the Buffalo Sauce:

  • ½ cup hot sauce (like Frank’s RedHot)
  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder

For Assembly:

  • 4 brioche buns or sandwich rolls buns

Ranch or blue cheese dressing

Lettuce, tomato slices, and pickles (optional)

Instructions 

  • Whisk together buttermilk, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and salt. Marinate chicken for at least 1 hour.
  • Dredge chicken in flour and cornstarch mixture, pressing to stick.
  • Fry chicken in hot oil for 4–5 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
  • Make buffalo sauce by melting butter and stirring in hot sauce, honey, and garlic powder.
  • Coat fried chicken in buffalo sauce. Toast buns, spread dressing, and assemble with lettuce, tomato, chicken, and pickles.

Notes

For extra crunch, double dredge the chicken in the flour mixture.
