A rich and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken breasts in a creamy mushroom sauce, perfect for a comforting meal.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 2 large chicken breasts
  • Salt & pepper (to taste) Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • Flour (for dredging) Flour (for dredging)

Oils & Fats

  • 2 tablespoons tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons tablespoons butter

Mushrooms

  • 12 ounces ounces mushrooms (cremini or white, sliced)

Seasonings

  • 1/4 teaspoon teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 cloves cloves garlic (minced)

Liquids

  • 1/2 cup cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 cup cups heavy/whipping cream

Instructions 

  • Slice chicken breasts in half, season with salt & pepper, and dredge in flour.
  • Heat oil in a skillet, cook chicken 4-5 minutes per side until golden, then set aside.
  • Melt butter, cook mushrooms with Italian seasoning until browned, then remove.
  • Add garlic, chicken broth, lemon juice, and mustard; simmer until reduced by half.
  • Stir in cream, add chicken and mushrooms, cook until heated through and sauce thickens.

Notes

Serve with rice or pasta for a complete meal.
