A quick and flavorful dish featuring tender chicken in a creamy lemon sauce, perfect for a satisfying weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Protein

  • 1.5 lbs boneless skinless chicken breasts (pounded to 1/2 inch thickness)

Dry Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp kosher salt
  • 0.5 tsp cracked black pepper

Cooking Fats

  • 2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter

Aromatics

  • 3 cloves garlic, minced

Liquids

  • 1 cup low-sodium chicken broth
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Cheese & Zest

  • 0.5 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large lemon, zested and juiced
  • 1 tsp fresh thyme or oregano

Garnish

  • to taste Fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions 

  • Pat chicken dry, then dredge in flour mixture. Sear in oil and butter until golden, then remove.
  • Sauté garlic in the same pan, add chicken broth, and scrape up browned bits.
  • Stir in cream, lemon juice, thyme, and simmer until slightly thickened. Whisk in Parmesan and lemon zest.
  • Return chicken to pan, spoon sauce over, and garnish with parsley.

Notes

For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine during the sauce simmering step.
