Crispy, spicy buffalo chicken tenders are perfect for a flavorful appetizer or main dish. Easy to make at home with tender chicken and a tangy buffalo sauce coating.

Ingredients

Chicken

  • 3 pieces boneless skinless chicken breasts, (cut into vertical strips)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon pepper
  • 3 cups buttermilk
  • ¼ cup buffalo sauce

Dry Coatings

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cups cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 cups panko breading

Egg Wash

  • 2 large eggs, (room temperature)
  • 1 teaspoon water

Additional Buffalo Sauce

  • 2 cups buffalo sauce

Oil

  • for frying oil, (for frying)

Instructions 

  • Marinate chicken strips in buttermilk and buffalo sauce for 30 minutes.
  • Dredge chicken in flour mixture, then dip in egg wash, and coat with panko breading.
  • Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  • Fry chicken tenders until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Toss cooked tenders in additional buffalo sauce and serve hot.

Notes

For extra crispiness, double coat the chicken in flour and panko.
